Taylor's university has over 12,000 students and classroom space has been a constant problem. However, there are plenty of un-used spaces around the campus. One space has been chosen to develop into a cafe.
A cafe was chosen to fill this splice because students they did not have too much time to go down and come back from the food court, therefore, they always lose their time, which causes them to be late. As they always sit in the class for long time, they only have 15 minutes for a break. We must refresh them by having a coffee or peace of cake. Therefore, we want to solve the problem of limited time by providing a space rest with a cup of coffee or fresh juice.
This place was chosen, because it is a nice space for a small cafe and it is the nearest place for three floors to get to. It it two floors from up in block (E) and also closer to block (D). The place will not be crowded because all the student must come back to their classrooms after 15 minutes. In short, having a place to relax which is near the classroom will benefit all students in different course. It could also be a place to meet new friends and talk about studies.
After the introduction about why we elected this place as our purpose. The furture about Take it easy cafe is that Our cafe might be relaxed and casual. Because, firstly, students must be very tired when they finish class, they just want to seek somewhere that they could have a good rest and leave their uncomfortable chairs along. Therefore, our sofa or high chairs should be soft and comfortable. Then, our cafe doesn't have to much fashionable and luxurious decorations. It is enough that we only put some pictures on the wall. Because it's a place that can provide students to have a short break, a cup of coffee or a chat. They never stay there for a long time.
Apart from the furniture and decoration, the flavour and service are very important things. On one hand, we should focus on the taste of our drinks. For example, the coffee must be very fragrant so that it can wake up the exhausted spirits, meanwhile, many students will be attracted by the nice smell. Only if we cook very good products, we don't have to consider profit and loss. On the other hand, service should be taken into account. If we have many choices, what's the reason can attract the customers? There is no doubt that service quality must be essential. For instance, when people are drinking, we could give them qualified service, such as we reply the customers requires kindly and politely. If we try our best to make them feel comfortable, we will have more new clients.
The theme of our Tea Bar is to recycle and save resource. So our advise use advanced technology and promoted environmental protection concept to the operation and development.
Firstly, our tea bar space is limited so the electricity consumption is not enough in everyday. Moreover, Malaysia have strongly sunshines that why we can utilize it as lightbulb by modern technology. For examples, solar panel, and many more. Solar panel can help us save cost and a lot resources because electricity is very costly. In short, recycle is a good idea as we have insufficient resources on the Earth.
And in our Tea Bar, the most usage of fabric can be recycled, such as: cups, straws, and the outer cups, and we can use the PVC material, environmental protection, clean and can be reused, and the security requirements is high. With fire prevention measures, and due to the 7th floor, with windows and railings, preventing accidents.
Our Tea Bar is built in the University, open for all students, teachers and staff, but because they are consuming something and we barely can afford the cost. In addition, we will set the price for the staff and the students’ at different consumption levels so that the vast majority of friends can enjoy our drinks. We do not welcome smoking friends, because smoking damages your health, and is harm to others, and no loud noise, because this is a civilized university, and high quality of the place, we do welcome students to visit us.
We hope taylor could accept our project ,because students have limited time and so many places in taylor`s does not use enough and a cafe idea solve that limited time break and helpful for students to refresh their minds.
